$1000 Freedom To Breathe College Scholarship
Deadline: March 14, 2008. Essays may be submitted electronically in word or pdf format to scholarship@ansrmn.org Hard copies of essays for those without computer/internet access may be dropped off or mailed to Anoka County Smoke-Free Partnership Scholarship, 277 Coon Rapids Blvd., Ste. 115, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 (postmark deadline also March 14). Essays may also be picked up by Anoka County Smoke-Free staff at schools with prior arrangement.
Essays must be between 500 and 2500 words. Essays will be judged on demonstrated knowledge of the public health dangers of secondhand smoke, the public health benefits to be accrued from implementation of Freedom to Breathe, an original point of view, and personal relevancy.

By submitting an essay, the applicant acknowledges that the essays become the possession of Anoka County Smoke-Free Partnership, and the stories may be shared with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the media and other interested parties.
